    none common goldfish will just bully the fancy goldfish and they will die of stress

    a shubunkin. Most fancy goldfish cant compete with a fast common goldfish. the shubunkin will.

    Hi Niamh, The only compatible fish for Common Goldfish are other types of streamlined,agile & hardy non fancies such as Comets & Shubunkins. By their very nature, round & fat bodied fancy Goldfish are neither as agile or hardy as regular Goldfish so there will be many problems including harassment & out-competing for food.

    2 Common Goldfish need at least a 20 gallon tank with a fitted lid & powerful filter with the need to upgrade soon as they grow so you need to consider stocking levels if you are planning on adding any tankmates. Of course if you have a tank in excess of 250 gallons or a large pond you can also add Koi to this list!

    well i would put in a medium sized fantail or low humped ryukin. i have one mixed with 2 commons and hes normally the first to get the food. or fathead and rosy red minnows. they get along great.
