  1. the bigger their bowl the bigger they get. I put some in a swimming pool and they thrived for over a year and got very big. They would have lasted longer but the pool fell apart. I sold them though.

  2. It really depends on the conditions that they are grown in. The bigger the container, and the more food they eat, the bigger they will grow. I have some that are in a pond that are a foot long.

they can live 20 to 50 years…..No lie! I was surprised too.

  3. I’m not sure, but I think I heard somewhere years ago that a goldfish will pretty much suit the size of fishbowl he is in. Larger fishbowl…he will grow bigger. Smaller fishbowl, he will stay on the smaller size. Sounds odd, but it’s what I heard. No proof as I have no pet fish.

  4. 10-20 years is the life-span of a goldfish.

  5. hello, goldfish are always growing it takes a year for them to mature after that they just get bigger. with proper nutrition and water clarity goldfish can live up to 60 yrs! feed them a variety of food like flakes, krill, blood worms, and vegetables. my orandas actually love fruit to! also make sure they have good swimming room.

  6. I am not sure the life span of a goldfish. As with any pet, the better you take care of them and their home the longer it will survive. I have a goldfish that I keep in a 46 gal tank. When he was first given to me he was 1 – 2 yrs old. I’ve had my tank for almost 3 yrs. He is at least a good 6 inches if not better ( think he has doubled maybe even tripled in his size from when I first got him ). I have also heard the same about goldfish growing to the size of their surroundings and believe it. Big Papa which is the name of my fantail just keeps growing and lives with other smaller fish. He keeps the bottom of my tank really clean because he is constantly eating…lol. Do watch how much you feed them because goldfish will and can eat themselves to death. So the bigger their surrounding and the more they eat the faster they will grow from my experience. Good Luck!

  7. way more than 6′! more like up to a foot! and can live for 15+ years!

  8. the more water u put a goldfish in the bigger it will get and they can live up to five years if your lucky maybe longer i had 2 once that lived about 5 years then some idot at my dads work didnt put the cloro out stuff in the water when he changed the tank (they have really hard water there and i had givin my fish to them to care for) and well all the clorine in the water killed them so heck they could live longer
